Introduction

The Solar Bug is a fun filled craft project that uses the power of the sun to move a vibrating motor. Paint body to match your favorite bug!

Video Overview

  1. Use acrylic paint (standard) to paint the top to your bug.
    • Use acrylic paint (standard) to paint the top to your bug.

    • Let dry.

  2. From the top of your bug, push the motor through hole.
    • From the top of your bug, push the motor through hole.

    • Once through, put a rubber o-ring over the motor and move it up next to the wood.

    • This will hold your motor in place.

  3. Peel off the protective backing from the tape. Stick to the back of the solar cell.
    • Peel off the protective backing from the tape.

    • Stick to the back of the solar cell.

    • Peel off the other protective layer from the tape.

    • Stick to bug body.

  4. Cut each pipe cleaner in half.
    • Cut each pipe cleaner in half.

    • Each pipe cleaner goes through two holes.

    • Insert pipe cleaners as shown in the diagram.
