How do I wash a project so that it still works afterwards?

Hand washing in cold water is the best solution. Be sure to remove all batteries. Hang up and let air dry.

Do not machine wash as you’ll instantly destroy your project.

Do note that over time your thread will lose it’s conduciveness due to corrosion with the air. There isn’t anything you can do about that. The Crazy Circuits parts should hold up better over time, but since the pads are made of copper they will also tarnish. If you want to protect your contact points, where the thread meets the component, you can try applying a little bit of super glue or nail polish. This will help protect those points against the air and they will last longer.
